MERRITT VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION

Each year, the Merritt Volleyball Association provides a $1,000 scholarship to a local highschool graduate Volleyball Player who will be going to University in the fall.

The scholarship of $1,000.00 may be awarded to a single applicant however, in the event of a tie, the scholarship will be divided between both applicants.   The scholarship amount must be used within two years of graduation.   For example, June 2007 High School Graduates must use the scholarship amount no later than January 2009.

Scholarship Criteria:

1. The applicant must be planning to attend a post-secondary institution and must be able to provide proof of registration.
2. The applicant must have participated in some form of organized volleyball in the past four years.  This would include School, Recreational or Club Volleyball.
3. The recipient must have a history of volunteering in the Merritt Community.  First priority will be given to the recipient who has volunteered in any form (coaching, organizing, set up, etc), for volleyball programs in Merritt.
4. The recipient must show financial need.
