Can you believe???? Welcome to the "Uh-Lim-Pik" Volleyfest 2010 - Merritt Style!  This is a big year for British Columbia and we want to continue to celebrate this year! Get your teams ready and start making your team flags! Best team flag could win your team a prize!!!! Read below for more information!

Dates:

The Mixed Tournament is scheduled for March 26th, 27th and 28th.  Games MAY be scheduled for Friday night at 6:00pm and playoffs will end on Sunday as soon as possible. The announcement of winning teams and prizes will occur immediately following the final games on Sunday at Merritt Secondary School. 

The Ladies Tournament is scheduled for April 16th, 17th and 18th.  Games MAY be scheduled for Friday night at 6:00pm and playoffs will end on Sunday as soon as possible.   The announcement of winning teams and prizes will occur immediately following the final games on Sunday. 

Team Fees:

Due to our increasing costs of such things as renting facilities and paying for the social, team fees have gone up this year. 

Mixed Tourney: 

"Early Bird Special": Payment recieved before February 19 - $300

Payment recieved after Early Bird Special before March 5 - $320

Please note: March 5 is the latest to pay your team fees.

Ladies Tourney:

"Early Bird Special": Payment recieved before March 6 - $300

Payment recieved after Early Bird Special before March 20 - $320

Please note: March 20 is the latest to pay your team fees.

New Division In Ladies Tourney:

We have decided this year to include another division in the Ladies Tourney! You can now sign up for Competitive 1, Competitive 2 and Recreational.  This will allow each division to stay competitive and will keep teams playing at similar levels.  Here is a quick breakdown:

Competitive 1 - The highest level of play. Teams that play at a high level should consider registering for Comp. 1

Competitive 2 - Below Comp. 1 but still competitive. You just don't think your team can compete at the highest level.

Recreational - Here for a good time!

Ghost Rule:

We will be trying a ghost rule this year in Volleyfest 2010. You will be allowed to play with only 5 players (MUST be three guys, two girls for the mixed tourney).  There will be an empty spot on the court that will rotate around (so you will have two in the front row during some rotations) and when the "ghost" is supposed to serve, you will lose that point.  The serve will then go back to the other team.

>Teams will play 3 games total Friday through Saturday and will be guaranteed at least 1 game on Sunday.

>Registration will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.  First to Pay - First to Play!

>Current Dated Cheques made payable to Merritt Volleyball Association can be sent to PO BOX 1979, Merritt, BC  V1K 1B8.  No Post Dated Cheques Please.

>Cancellations to play - your entry fee will be refunded if your team provides 2 weeks notice for cancellation in the tournament or finds a replacement team.

>Please join us on Friday Evening at the Middlesboro Pub to receive your tournament information package and help us kick off Volleyfest 2010!!

>After a great day of Volleyball, please join us Saturday Evening at the Civic Centre for a ton of food, and an evening full of games, dancing, music, prizes and more!! The Civic Centre will be a great place to party and have a good time.
